Soulmates, Twin flames, & Divine Union
Yeah, we're going there.
Before I continue, I want to clear up a few things because words like soulmate, twin flame, and divine union get thrown around so much that I don't think most people know the difference anymore.
So let's break it down.
A soulmate is someone you've shared past lives with. A soulmate can be a parent, a sibling, a friend, a lover, a child, a coworker. They can show up in countless ways. Soulmates aren't limited to romantic relationships.
A twin flame is believed to be two beings who share the same soul. In other words, one soul split into two and now inhabits two different bodies.
Now... I have some very strong opinions about twin flames.
I don't believe they're real.
Before you come for me, let me tell you where the term came from.
It was first coined by Elizabeth Clare Prophet. At 22 years old, she met a man twenty years her senior named Mark Prophet. They were both married at the time, but they divorced their spouses shortly after meeting. She referred to Mark as her "twin flame."
Now, I'm not here to tell you whether what they shared was real love or not. But I'll be honest, their relationship has never sat right with me. The power imbalance, the age difference, and the fact that they were both married when they met make it difficult for me to see that relationship as one that began from integrity.
Beyond that, let's remember something even more important.
Our souls all come from the same Source.
We are Source energy incarnate.
I am in you, and you are in me.
There isn't one person walking this Earth who holds the missing half of your soul because your soul was never broken in the first place.
And that brings me to Divine Union.
This is what I believe most people are actually referring to when they talk about soulmates or twin flames.
A Divine Union is a romantic partnership between two souls who chose, long before they ever came into bodies, to find one another and serve humanity together in some way.
Maybe they build a heart-led business together.
Maybe they start a nonprofit.
Maybe they simply heal their wounds, love each other so deeply, and model such devotion that their relationship raises the vibration of everyone around them.
That, to me, is the real mission.
This is what so many of us are longing for.
Not a toxic relationship with explosive chemistry that we casually label a "twin flame."
Please do me a favor and retire that term.
You're not half a soul wandering around looking for your missing piece.
You're already whole.
That ache you feel isn't because you're incomplete.
It's because your soul remembers.
It remembers that you're here for a love that is extraordinary. A love with purpose. A love that transforms not only the two people in it, but everyone it touches.
If you've carried that longing your whole life, I don't think it's an accident.
I think it's because you're meant to find that person.
Not because they complete you, but because together you'll become something even greater than either of you could be alone.
You'll love in a way that raises the frequency of this planet.
You'll become an example of what's possible.
You'll remind people that a grand, beautiful, cosmic love isn't just a fantasy.
It's real.
Now...
Are Divine Unions easy?
Pfft.
Absolutely not. 😂
You'll both have to face your shadows. You'll have to choose love in the moments when every part of you wants to run, shut down, or protect yourself.
It will ask more of you than any other relationship ever has.
And it will crack your heart open in the most magnificent way.
This is the work of our lifetime, babes.
To expand our capacity to love.
And then expand it again.
And again.
And again.
Until our hearts can hold more love than we ever thought possible.
So if you're searching for this kind of love, stay patient.
You're not here for ordinary love.
You're here for something sacred.
Let the Universe lead you.
